A Steam Box is still a PC and not a console. It is an open platform, you can change the hardware, install whatever programs you want to, play around with the OS files and do whatever you like, just like a PC. The main selling point is it is a PC designed for gaming, so no messing about trying to get things to work or selecting parts when you buy. Everything should just work out of the box. It's for console users really, people that aren't tech savvy. * +

Also I don't think many PC gamers will buy a Steam Box. I mean what would be the point when you can just install SteamOS on your gaming PC. That's what I will do if the OS becomes popular. Dual boot with Win 7 * +

SteamOS doesn't work that way. But yeah PC is going to murder the new consoles, they'll die off and tablets/mobile will deliver the killer blow as the sun rises and burns bright on a new dawn of the gaming PC. Its fantastic. * +

Work what way? (confuse) I know SteamOS is a custom version of Linux, and that a lot of games aren't supported so to play them you need to stream. I meant if games are made for Linux in the future then we can dual boot until Windows is no longer needed. * +

Linux will be the future of pc gaming ,Been saying it for ages now . If every game is supported in the furure on linux then i honestly do not see the need for any form of windows if you are a gamer *
