Now that the PS4 and Xbox One are available in many parts of the world, we must ponder what other future video game consoles will look like. To give you a glimpse into this uncertain future, laptop and computer developer iBuyPower has revealed its prototype for a Steam Machine. * +

As detailed by Endgadget, this glowing, smooth white boxy thing that looks like a classy dessert is expected to come out in 2014. So far the prototype is running an early version of SteamOS, and while its internals remain unknown, the manufacturer confirmed that it will run all Steam titles in 1080p resolution at 60fps.

iBuyPower is still working out the kinks in its aesthetic and told Endgadget that it actually has two models, codenamed Gordon and Freeman. The two models are nearly identical, but one has a clear glowing bar along its center, while the other's is black when not illuminated ala the PS4. * +

I just have to buy an Xbox controller to get my chance at being a Steambox beta tester. * +

For the price of an Xbox One, the computer will offer a multicore AMD CPU and a discrete AMD Radeon R9 270 graphics card that's a 180 GPU all by itself and come with Valve's Steam Controller as part of the package deal.

The company says the box is bigger than a PlayStation 4 but smaller than Microsoft's Xbox One, and comes standard with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 500GB hard drive. (...) For the price, you won't be getting Windows, only Valve's Linux-based Steam OS, which could be an issue starting out.

Well, I prefer the mouse and keyboard myself. But that is part of the achievement you need to submit a full entry. I need it to launch Steam in the Big Mode. I figure that I might spot one laying on the sidewalk outside of college dormitory someday. (Numpty) * +
