I recently decided after a two yr break to get back into xbox live. I purchased the normal version of bf3 but on the market place there's 2 versions of both these add ons, one is a version to buy and the file size is only 108k and there's also an update version which are both over 2gig, the thing is its allowing me to dowload the updates, does this mean I'll be able to play them? * +

Description for the 'free' version ''This update is required to play the Back to Karkand expansion pack.''

That doesn't say anything about getting the DLC for free.

I can't understand why you would be able to download the updates if you haven't purchased the packs, its only those two though. I am downloading one now so will find out when it decides to finish. * +

Battlefield 3 uses a huge amount of memory. Nearly 20gb with all the updates and map packs etc. There's been quite a big drop in online players lately since the sequel was released. It's fiendishly difficult as well. * +

That's storage, not memory. * +

You should be able to get all the packs on a disk, its ridiculous how you have to download everything. Still loads playing it, i even got into some full games of bad company 2 over the weekend. * +

I did notice that bad company 2 is better looking, i also think the maps are generally better. * +

Don't be pedantic. * +
