Starting April 4th Origin will be going all digital. This means the entire Origin game store will be entirely digital downloads for PC and Mac.
What does this mean for you? If you're among 99 of our users, absolutely nothing. Your shopping experience hasn't changed one single bit.
But if you're that 1 who still desires a physical collection, we want to let you know that Origin won't be able to fulfill that need beginning April 4th. Well still be here when you transition your gaming habits to the wonders of digital downloads.
Digital is fast and convenient. Origins focus is to give gamers the best experience, and going all-digital will make that possible.

Well when you can pre-load games before release date and the game takes less than an hour to download, you could argue downloads are faster as you can play them the minute they unlock in your region and not have to wait for a delivery or when the shops open.
I have zero uses for a disk after I have registered the code on Steam. Origin, Uplay etc... it's just a waste of space. * +

@cyberman
You can't play Origin games without a net connection anyway, a game disk still requires a net connection. Plus even on consoles you need a net connection to get patches to fix the massive amount of bugs games ship with. Pretty much everyone who counts to a publisher has a net connection. * +

I do think people should have the option of a disc. I understand the use of digital and it's cool,but I'd much rather buy a disc. I have a dvd rack full of awesome games,it looks cool and I can reinstall or mod my games freely without the waste of bandwith.I hate Steam. I have had so much s**t with it that I vowed never to support Steam again. I thing developers should do both discs and digital. The build up of going to a store,buying a game,rushing home,opening the case and releasing that new game smell and then excitedly opening my dvd rom is like for play to me haha I love it * +
