You can't install a game on a external hdd,it has to be installed on the internal one * +

I corrected myself. I thought the new models allow game installation DATA to be I stalled on the external but apparently these new 12gb models are 'budget' versions. So your best bet would be to remove your ps3 internal hdd and replace it with a larger capacity. Google it or google a few places im sure there are many that would do it *
