Subject: wolfenstein: how close were the Germans

I tried Castle Wolfenstein back in the late 80s on my Commodore 64 when it was released, I was much more impressed with Doom. But I think I still have the original floppy disk wheel in my file cabinet. I sure miss the days of Shareware. (richeet3) * +

The Germans had grand ideas but were badly prioritised and executed. Hitler wasted sooooo much money and critical resources on building the V weapons when their impact was minimal and eventually irrelevant as their launchers were pushed back out of range.
On the other hand we sent a bunch our top minds to the Americans and we built the atomic bomb years before anyone else. Stealth bombers not much use if you don't want Berlin turned to ash. It is highly likely those weapons would have been used in the European theatre if strong resistance had continued.
The game was well and truly up by the end of 1944. Had it gone in for another 18 months there probably wouldn't have been a stone left standing in Germany. Luckily it didn't. * +

Hitler was also obsessed with bunkers. He used enough concrete at Eagles Nest to build a fair sized city. In fact, the resources he used for his personal projects helped cost him the war. * +

So if Germany had won war, do you think they would of released a game based on what would of happened if the allies had won the war?
Return to castle Windsor with a big mechanized Churchill and the head of Franklin Roosevelt in a jar, carefully attached to thrusters and a cape? * +
