Good old Apple is s hafting South Africa again. We have over 90 mobile penetration, so there is a market here...but do we get the iPhone? No. I know of a number of people who were hoping to get one but have now moved on since Apple said we wont be getting it. Their loss I guess. * +

yep thats true @ imblunt, but there are some unlocked ones roaming around here in SA. Its sad thou cause the Apple Store in Sandton had told me they would get it late November but now they aint geting it at all. It would have sold VERY well here. Maybe the 3G version wil come. * +

well, what exactly are you missing out on? i'm in the uk and i look at the iphone, compare it to other phones i can get for free on a contract and look at the ipod touch and consider it not worth it. seriously, if you can get an ipod touch in sa, then you can get all that's good about the iphone already btw, we were waiting for the 3g version and didn't get it which suggests that there isn't one * +

I say don't rush and buy one because you'll get headaches! Apple isn't big enough to produce enough for all countries plus they don't have enough services to support iPhone owners on most countries.. They are good at design and flashy fatures but software is unstable, lacks many simple and advanced features. * +

admin talks sense, seriously imho the interface of the iphone/ipod touch is something else, but that's the only good thing about it for me the competitors already are having a crack at copying that (lg really should have done better with the viewty's os) if apple weren't so hell bent on going it alone the iphone could have been great * +
