Most of the interesting apps on the AppStore are web based and programmer for location aware systems which includes gps and unlimited data transfer, those apps will be simply useless on the iTouch. I was looking to get it myself when I used to use the HTC HD as much primary device but after considering all the aspects I chose to go for the iPhone instead. * +

Don't know jayne, but if you don't have a laptop or pc how would u sync the iTouch to get songs and other stuffs on the device and frankly speaking, owning either an iPhone or an iTouch without a PC is simply useless in my honest opinion cause more that half if the functionalities require syncing. * +

What Akash said. In that situation your better off with an ordinary mobile phone. No apps no internet then its not worth buying itouch in my opinion. * +

Lol, if ur havin an s60 phone, then u may use joikuspot and then can use wifi on ur iPod touch. But then again, u need a pc to sync music, vids on to ur iPod ..smartass * +

Thetering is possible on iPhone as well :) but as said earlier. Most of the iPhone functionalities require u to have unlimited Internet. I don't see any point in buying the itouch other than the obvious price factor. *
