Only if you have got winterboard yet,backgrounder enables multitasking also,have you tried it to compare the two? * +

How strange. I so wanted this app and had it for a few days and have already lapsed back into default iPhone mode of pressing home key. I guess apple knows best after all and that when an official version arises it will be something inbuilt that will do it automatically so that I won't have to think twice about it while I am using it * +
