You must of used the GM firmware which was released to devs before the official release of iOS4. This included gamecentre but was removed for the public release * +

Ah ok if they do drop it I wonder why it runs fine it's actually a very small app ?? Unless it's the playing with friends that the 3G won't handle ! This version of 4.0 is so smooth and fast they should have left the official Like this .., * +

Apple has confirmed on its Game Center overview page that the social gaming network will be available for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and second-, third-, and fourth-generation iPod touch models when the feature debuts in iOS 4.1 later this week. The iPhone 3G, original iPhone, and original iPod touch are not supported, although of those only the iPhone 3G supports iOS 4 in any form. * +
