I lost my wifi, went to restart my 3gs on 4.01 jailbroken. But it went straight into recovery mode, tried the home lock button combos with no luck at all. The found recboot which kicked it out but it went straight back in after the boot screen with the green bar on it. * +

Have you tried iRecovery ? Search on the Redmondpie site for guides. * +

that was actually the first thing i tried, i installed libusb then tried running it, but the command screen shut in a split second, any idea why? After that it wrecked my usb drivers up and i had to uninstall libusb. * +

Copy libusb0.dll and iRecovery.exe to your C:Documents and Settings/Adminstrator folder. Rename the folder from iHackintosh iRecovery Package to iHack to make it easier to find. Click on start and then click on run. When that opens type in cmd6. type the command cd C:Documents and Settings/AdministratoriHack. Don't forget to run as admin * +
