no rename the file if it saved the file as a zip then heres what you do say your firmware is something like blahblah_ios4.1.zip then put that zip in a folder then pack it again with winrar then open it with winrar goto Commands within winrar and scroll down to rename file to .zip then remove the name .zip and put .ipsw and then extract that file and you should have ur renamed firmware well thats * +

Just rename the downloaded folder that's .zip to .ipsw and that's it. No need to go through all that nfx said * +
