when i conect my phone to itunes i get itunes icon and data cable on my phone and itunes on pc says my phone is in dfu mode and where it tells u bout phone it says name-iphone,capacity-n/a,software version-n/a and serial number-n/a !. under that its faded says software is up to date and under that says restore but am sure i pressed that b4 and always got errors end never restored. * +

You don't need to shift restore unless going to an older firmware, if you're trying to restore to iOS 5 then just hit the restore button * +

i got errors when i restored the update as i had gm ios 5 but in the end it did it n apple would sort it for free if u have 1 close but they could be ya best bet, make sure u have all windows updates * +

some1 i know couldnt restore eitha until pc was updated *
