this is what i did to fix ma long gone wifi. what u gotta do step1 DRAIN ur battery to the last until u CANT powerON n also u get a YELLOW death SCREEN when connected to charger or pc * +

leave device connected to charger or pc until device starts to boot (this may take a long tym to start up device but dont hesitate) * +

after device fully starts up go to settins n check ur wifi u shud see NOT CONNECTED! it shud start searchin for wifi netwrks or u can add a new one * +

it worked but but not perfectly for me coz its off when fon reboots n u have to thru thesame process again...n also it sometimes get grey again when not in use so go on n enjoy ur wifi * +

Dunno about 3gs n 4s but it worked for me ... So if u got a grey wifi n cant connect then try ma simple steps n see ... Who knws it might work for u too.... Peace * +
