Blimey! My gob watering that much , almost flooded the place, by just seeing the pics and reading your memories of all these master delights. Someone mention junket earlier, i have not had any junket since my schooldays at secondary, the dinner ladies often did junket and sprinkled some cinnamon in. Another of my favourite school dessert apart from steamed sponge was squares of pastry that had golden syrup with cornflakes in and with custard. * +

Mmmm yes, bet they are lush as well, my cousin she often makes apple crumble. When i worked at the hotel the pastry chef made awesome apple and blackcurrant crumble or rhubarb crumble that was on that nights menu. Next day there was always such a lot left over, the guests did not seem to want much of it, the chef always made 4 baking trays of it. So one or two trays went into the freezer the rest for the staff whoever wanted any, which one or two maybe three people did.. As i was often in potwash the chef let me take leftover unwanted trays of pie or crumble home, otherwise it was going throug * +
