For the first time ever Glastonbury hasnt sold out tickets.Why? Is it a bad line up this year? Do people prefer more modern festivals like Reading or Leeds? The credit crunch? Or is it just not as good as it once was?. * +

Its only recently theres been a capacity of 140k. When I went in 99 it was about 90k and I picked up a pair of tickets outside for 30 quid each. the photo ID on tickets will be a factor as well putting off people who want to go on a whim * +

I tried to buy tickets for 3 hrs online and by fone the day they went on sale same as last year but because last years all sold out within the 1st cupl hours i gave up after a while thinking theyd be all gone. Then i shredded my registration number thinkin it was useless. Its was only the next day i found they hadnt sold out but it was too late coz i didnt know my registration number! Lol * +

The problem is they only let 2 companies sell tickets for them and all the lines jam and the internet goes down with the volume of ppl trying to get thru. Its the same every year... Very annoying! The headliner Jay-Z defo had something to do with the drop in sales tho. * +

Thats true,they make it so hard to apply for some events nowadays.Gone are the days when i could turn up at Piccadilly Records in Manc and buy tickets for pretty much anything.The headline act at Glasto is a rapper this year,maybe thats why a poor turnout * +

HMV or Zavvi were selling tickets over their counter to anyone with photo ID but it wasnt widely advertised. I don't understand the logic of not going simply because Jay Z is playing. Its not like you cant go to the other stage while he's on if you dislike him that much * +
