Built your own MIDI instrument? Why? There are thousands MIDI instruments out there, from keys to reeds, and from strings to Theremins. What MIDI instrument you want to built? I dont think that its so easy to make this btw * +

You could build a midi instrument such as a synthesizer. You would need a microcontroller such as a 'PIC', maybe some 'DIGITAL TO ANALOGUE CONVERTERS' and at least two 'VOLTAGE CONTROLLED OSCILLATORS' to make the sounds. An 'ENVELOPE GENERATOR' to control a 'VOLTAGE CONTROLLED AMPLIFIER' and lastly a 'VOLTAGE CONTROLLED FILTER' to modify the sounds further. You can find circuits all over the net for each of the individual modules and as for the microcontroller you will have to write * +

Write your own software using a development tookit on a pc and programming the 'PIC' to test it. * +
