Wow, hard to believe that title got asterisked 
. To be honest I don't think anything comes close to Kind of Blue, but ESP from '65 is good, from his '80s period I'd recommend 'Decoy' over the better-known 'Tutu', but avoid Sketches of Spain which I think is dreadful (although some critics like it). * +

@9362, the solution for you is the ''The Complete Columbia Album Collection'' boxset. A great limited box with 52 albums on 70 CDs in mini LP replica packagings. In the box you'll find a 250 page color book with essays, rare photographs and memorabilia, plus 1 DVD with a live.

. But I stand by what I said about Sketches, I've actually got it, having heard it round a friends many years ago in an 'altered state' :) Just because the critics like it doesn't mean I have to.. *laughs* * +
