Are they one of the most underated rock bands of the 70's?albums were a bit up and down quality wise but in hocus pocus and sylvia they had 2 of the great rock tunes of the 70's,yet people rarely talk about them * +

. But you're right, they don't get the respect they merit. And although you say the albums were a bit up and down in terms of quality; granted, it's not stone-cold classic after stone-cold classic, but during their albums you're very much in the world of Focus, and you need to shake yourself on emerging. I like that in a band.. * +

'Focus' was and still is a great Prog Rock band, with unique sound. The last albums i bought were the studio 'Focus 8' (2002) and the live 'Live In Southamerica' (2004), both excellent. Their last album is the 'Focus 9 / New Skin' (2006) which i didnt listen it yet

Am not a great prog rock expert but i always thought focus were a bit heavier/rockier then most prog rock bands.Also garion do you think they get less respect because they are a dutch band? * +

I don't imagine that's ever been the case bro, it'd be a pretty weird criterion really, bit like saying you didn't like Charlie Parker 'cos he was a bit overweight during parts of his career.. I guess people who don't really care about music rarely glance beyond their near, safe horizons though, so scarily I suppose it's possible :( * +

Now, about Focus' sound, no, its not heavier than the most Prog Rock bands. And they are very famous in the Prog Rock community, dont confuse the Rock community with the Prog Rock community. And no matter if they are a Dutch band, noone cares. For the listener, the only criterion must be the good music and only this. * +
