using words like pathetic and useless suggests you already made up ypur mind but I'll answer anyway. No thats not pretentious its called showmanship. Theres nowt wrong with dressing up a bit different and being larger than life if you can back it up on stage and in the studio. Case in point Alice Cooper and Kiss 2 of the most succesfull hard hard rock bands ever * +
