Don't mistake mainstream commercial stuff for being hip hop.. Whilst it's true that the 80's and especially the 90's were great for quality rap artists being pushed on radio/mtv etc, there was also a large selection of garbage.. The only thing that's changed is that the quality stuff is almost 100 percent independent now with no major backing * +
