why do people sign in at receptions in case theres a fire to be accounted for incase of fire.you'd think paper would be the 1st thing to burn :/and if they found 1 bit of paper with a charred name do they win? * +

I think it's more for security reasons, knowing who's entering and exiting the building on a daily basis, rather than the odd chance of a fire and accounting for everyone. (Hopeless) * +

no it is for fire.
anyone can sign a false name if they enter a building with intentions to rob the place lol
if you dont sign in, and there is a fire, you dont exist. so when they do a head count from a safe distance from the blazing inferno, if you arent on the list they will assume you arent in the building.
