depends if the mother in law deserverd to be insulted ? If it was out of the blue and undeserverd than i wouldn't be happy and stand up for my little old mum. My mother in law aint that bad tbh, it helps that she lives 300 miles away and i only see her once a year at most. * +

I'm very forgiving, so I'd pretend it didn't happen.

However, my mum wouldn't be so forgiving and I'd find myself in the middle of something I don't want to take sides on.
