another list topic
name your favourite cover versions of songs that wipe the floor with the originals.
we all probably know Jimi's All along the watchtower as being the more definitive version than Bob Dylan's original. what else can you think of ? the more obscure the better.
throw in a YouTube link if you can find one too. * +

I'll go first, with Susan Boyle's version of Wild horses. good enough to make you weep. far better than The Stones version

Possibly the finest example of a cover version smashing the original out of the park. * +

Setting the bar a bit high with annihilation.
There are thousands if were talking remixes, such as the nu-logic version of Birdy's Wings.
Then full covers, such as Feeling Good, by Muse.
And then there are remixes of covers, such as the Ibizarre remix of Creep, by Eliza Lumley.
None of which are an annihilation of the original, but each a good example. * +

There was a Samoan guy, maybe Tongan..he did a great version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow. I feel it was better than Judy Garlands. Eva Cassidy did a great version too. * +
