Imo, how the west is reacting to Ukraine is as much about Taiwan as it is Ukraine and China is watching very carefully especially as Russia isn't as isolated as western media would have it . Saying that , from a miltary perspective, apparently Taiwan would be a much harder nut to crack and it's not a given they would succeed. So on balance I think despite the constant rhetoric and sabre rattling , China secretly is quite happy to maintain the status quo .....even if the war in Europe escalates. But tbh I never thought Russia would fully invade Ukraine...so * +
