millions of people having to leave low level locations won't be good.
lost farming grounds in affected areas. tonnes of sea pollution as factories and plants get over run. whole countries ceasing to exist. migrant populations of millions looking for new homes, affecting house price values. maybe the collapse of the insurance industry.

basically there'll be less land and what remains will be under greater pressure to provide for the same number of people. ''not necessarily a bad thing'' * +

Antarctica will be nice and temperate, it's already getting a bit greener.

Surely land that is desertified currently will bloom into new life, too? * +

it'll still be a bloody cold place for maybe 9 months of the year, plus the 24 hours of daylight and 24 hours of darkness thing would be a mind fuck.

that's if it's elevation is high enough not to be flooded out * +
