Carpets are gross. Ew.

Imagine living in an apt that has had that carpet there for 10 years. Jesus. Decent looking on top, but deep down under-layers are ten years worth of guck.

Hes should def ask if it can be removed. Or at the very least get a thorough steam clean before he moves in. * +

Carpet's nice, but it's like undrwear - you wouldn't settle for second hand.

All the carpet in my flat is new, and has 15mm underlay, so it's like walking on air. Which is nice. Especially for the guys downstairs.

I mean, you wouldn't put a hard floor on someone's ceiling.. * +
