acording to the Quran All this was in the past tense. IT was promised but then they disobeyed and hence they were punished and deprived from it. They are trying to keep it in spite of God's punishment but when the time comes they will be expelled from it twice as toldaccording to the Quran 17:3 - 17:8. Read it for yourself. * +

Islamic belief is that every Prophet before Muhammad was Muslim (not the common day Muslim with all of its practises and rules) but when they say they are Muslims, they meant they followed Islamic Monotheism not Jewish Monotheism, there are many difference but the major difference is Jews are not considered the chosen people of God in the Quran saying this Jews in the time of Moses and Aaron are considered as moslems simple as that. * +
