James 1 wasnt gay. In his later years he suffered from senile dementia. One of the effects this had on James the first was to make him a bit lecherous. He used to literally drool on people. Yes both men and women. But as this was a symptom of a neurological disorder rather than any sexual preference you can hardly call it homosexuality. Especially as there was nothing to suggest in terms of behavioural history and relationships that it was a part of his natural sexuality prior to him suffering from dementia. * +
