what do you consider to be a life, as in organism or sentient being? Eg, organisms like plants- are they to be considered as a life similar to a human life? If a human dies and a plant dies is it the same? * +

animals themselves have instincts that keep them alive, do they 'think' to do these things or a more mechanical instinct? Plants themselves seek out light, water, nutrients and they reproduce ect.. * +

If all plants die, all humans die too. If all humans die, plants would still live. Clever. All angles of ecology suggests that humans are the only part that can be removed from the equation. From pollution to extinction, those things could be halted if all humans would just disappear. * +

Dosnt have to be sentient to be considered life. A Scabie mite is just as alive as you and I. As for instincts you run on them too, although whales/dolphins, cethlopodscephalopods, great apes, some birds and canines do have the capacity to make choices beyond mechanical instinct. * +

On a world scale the life of a ragwart weed is no more or less important than ours. On a community scale the difference is obvious. We as humans would be fked without bees, while bees would get on just fine without us. Life is life is life. And life feeds on life. * +

We really are not that much more complex than any other. All species have pros and cons. If you were in the middle of the sahara with no food or water I doubt you would feel that superior compared to a camel * +

all life on earth is related to each other.. or is it? did all the ingredients for life land here in space debris and then form into life? There must have been succesive waves of such ingredients.. Did any more complex organisms arrive here by the same method? * +
