Outbox contains only those messages which are pending, and havent been sent. If you want to delete the messages from 'Sent' folder , follow this - Messages-Settings-Other- Save sent messages- No. * +

no its a common bug with s60v2, format the phone memory will fix it. happened to me loads of times * +
