im new to symbian phones and 3G generally, please tell me if there is a setting to ' switch on' 3G on the nokia c5 cos all i'm having is just edge. Or is it automatically on? * +

By default it should be automatically on but on most phones you can set it to 2g only or dual. It's more likely that you are not getting 3G reception. Check in your connection settings * +

just checked it now, its in dual mode. Should i change it to umts(thats 3g right?) or leave it in dual? My network supports it. . . * +

try it in umts mode. if u r in range of a 3g tower you'll get a signal. if u dont your not * +
