Samsung Electronics Co Ltd will become the world's largest smartphone maker this quarter, overtaking struggling Nokia Oyj which has lead the market since 1996, Nomura said on Monday. In the next quarter Nomura also sees also Apple Inc overtaking Nokia and pushing it to No. 3 in rankings. * +

Ive BEEN saying this since late last year, and soon Samsung should overtake Nokia as largest manufacturer to, as not only is Nokia losing in smartphones but also in dumbphones as Chinese and Indian manufacturers eat them up from the bottom, i'd hate to be Elop right now, he has a gigantic mess in his hands, Nokia will have to be bought at some point, especialy if WP fails. * +
