so i went out today and bought a mic and stand (info: a relatively cheap but WORKING mic that uses an xlr jack) and thought itd be a simple task of simply plugging it into the mic jack on my compaq cq60 laptop using windows vista, right? WRONG! yes ive already googled the hell out of this and 99 percent of the solutions are to right click and show disabled devices on the sound/recording properties * +
