got an old dell dimension 8200 was working fine yesterday but now wont power on opened it up and all cards and such are tight when i plug it in the green light is on on the motherboard any ideas what could be worng * +

no theres no ife in it at all put the power cable into the back and nothing at all the only light that comes on is the one on the motherboard * +

If the cpu fan don't come on its the psu. * +

Check if your cpu fan spins. If it don't spin its the psu. No need to go earth anything. * +

The fuse is soldered on and why did it go. a fuse that goes always means a problem elsewhere. The fuse is just protection and never the problem *
