My dell inspiron 6400 Laptop cant startup, its flashing error lights, 'capslock, number lock, scroll lock'. The processor fan sounds 2 b runnin but the screen doesnt come on. The last thing I remember is it fell but neva stopped working immedietly. How can I fix this? Someone said it shud b opened to reset the BIOS. * +

Dont have idea. But when you try to switch it on press delete on your keyboard to open bios. And try to connect it with an external monitor... Do those if no luck wait for more replys... * +

Do this insert a cd of ubuntu or windows. Then power off again. Now start it quickly keep on pressing f12 a menu will come select boot from cd and see what happen. * +

sounds like you have a major problem. with dropped equipment its normaly something has broken often a crack in the motherboard that only causes a fail when the machine is turned off and has a chance to cool. * +

good advice from jay.mack chech your ram is seated properly and if hard drive is not loose. then take out battery for a few minutes and press power button for ten seconds then put back together maybe your lucky * +

Check your laptops manual please. Hardware errors you will get a beep warning. Low or flat battery you will get the flashing lights. Charge the battery its all u hav to do. *
