depends on the speed of the rom and d condition of the dvd itsef.... if d rom is old and dvd isn scratched u av like 2mb per hour * +

copying from a dvd can be done at max speed, but copying froma pc to dvd should be done at no less more than half the max speed of the dvd disk. i use x16 disks so i burn at x8(for movies) or less for important data. the lower the speed you bur the safer it is, i have found. and i have a 99percent sucsess rate. i had 3 disks fail when creating a back up of win xp ... * +

i burn @ 16x usually for dvds compressed onto dvd5. LG drive seems to be pretty stable and as long as you get decent discs you shouldnt have any problems. 22mb/s so takes about 3 and a half minutes *
