I spend a lot of time scanning sites like gumtree searching for netbooks and laptops for friends. Ive noticed that most are way overpriced. Its not unusual to see laptops that originally retailed for 350 pounds new 3 years ago selling for anything between 250 and 300 pounds sterling. And netbooks seem to be advertised between 150 and 200 quid secondhand. * +

Obviously people have a funny idea of how much things are worth secondhand. Why would I Buy a 2nd hand netbook for 160 quid when I can buy a new samsung netbook with 12 months warranty for 200 quid brand new? Beets me! And why would you spend 300 quid on a 2nd hand laptop thats 3 years old when you can a brand new windows 7 laptop for 350 quid? * +

The question is, do people actually sell their laptops for these crazy prices? I would love to know. Its just so unrealistic. Or are the people who buy them the same silly people who go into their local cash converters store and spend 250 quid on a 5 year old laptop? * +

I think at least some will be being sold by people who can't tell the difference between a PD dual core and a core 2, and so they think their PC is worth about the same as a newer model. * +

Yeah but what makes me laugh is these are the people who wouldnt give you sod all if you were to sell your laptop and offer you something like 50 quid for something thats worth at least 150 quid. * +
