my brother has a SONY VAIO laptop and dont know what happened but dis is the outcome. on power on,it displays lines on the screen,tried connecting the laptop to an external desktop monitor it still doesn't display or even powers on d external monitor display....so gurus and most respected jaymack help please...10x *

its the laptop rather than the display. If it under guarantee take it for repair or seek a tech. *

just pluging in an external monitor wont make it work on some machines, it has to be set up in the display options in your operating system *

what rain said. you need to set the external desktop up. as for the lines. use prtscrn, then open paint. now press ctrl+v save it and upload it to imageshak or similar. post the link. if the screen shows up without any lines for us then its a physical problem with your display. if the lines show up then its a driver or gfx card problem. *
