IBM sold their thinkpad laptop business to lennovo some time ago. Lennovo are a chinese company does that put you off? Its true that not everything chinese is bad but I would still be inclined to choose sony in this case. Infact I would choose any japanese brand over chinese. I like to work on a better the devil you know policy! * +

Sony laptops generally cost more than any other brands with the only exception being apple but thats entirely different territory obviously. A sony will have a better screen than lennovo and build quality is usually better. * +
