There are ways to convert from NTFS to FAT32 without losing data on the drive, but it is best to backup important files first. Google 'convert ntfs to fat32 without data loss'. I'm assuming your HDD is formatted as NTFS. The PS3 will read an external HDD formatted in FAT32. I'm not sure what happens to files on the drive that are over 4GB after you do this. * +

Yes i also converted my drive its easy but wasnt sure which format does ps3 supports you can change it like first go to cmd then select the drive then its like fs to ntfs in cmd i foot remember * +

I read sumwhere that u can partion the hdd like 400gbs and format that partiond bit to fat32, but how u go about doing that? u think that wud work? that app called swiss knife can do it but not sure if it can like convert to ntfs to fat32 but not sure if it can partion and then format that partioned bit * +
