true but ssd hd prices have a long way to go yet before you can get a decent size drive at an affordable price. and thats exactly why you dont see windows laptops with ssd drives in the high street shops. the day you do will be the day decent capacity drives are highly affordable or at a price most people wont mind paying. a 128gb hd would have been ok 5 years ago but things dont technology never stands still. as the programs get more sophisticated so they get larger. * +

Give it another 5 years and you might get a terabyte SSD for a few hundred quid. Prices have dipped below 1 pound a gig only recently. * +

the day you can buy a 500gb ssd hd for 100 quid I will gladly go out and buy one but not untill they come down to that sort of price and they will eventually. and by that time they will also be faster than whats on offer today. * +

something like that yeah alvar89 lol. you know its ironic that most of us are still using mechanical hard drives that are still based on the same basic principle they were nearly 30 years ago at the dawn of the IBM compatible age. but then so are our cars! the internal combustion engine nearly a 100 years. *
