MSE didn't do very well in detection rates the last time I checked. That's nothing to worry about, however, so long as you are a careful when browsing the web. But Avira is without a doubt the best at detection.

what detection rate? Every 'regularly' updated AV could identify every virus there is.. What i'm trying to say is, no virus could pass through one successfully and get detected in another ... * +

also, i know loads of FUD viruses that can get through AV easily.. some have been there for like 2-3yrs and still not patch whatsoever... AV makers are more interested in blocking keys than malicious trojans etc * +

@4juice, why you dont listen? At least 2 persons here we use Avira (free and premium) for over 6 years. Personally i use Avira since 2003, when it wasnt famous yet. The last 2-3 years i use the Premiun version. Last time i saw a virus in my PC was in 2003. Avira's detection rate for known (and unknown) virus is superb. * +

@Proton, you cant schedule the free edition to update itself every half an hour, you can do this only in Premium edition. In free edition the minimum time is 1 day. The last time i saw my bro's free Avira anyway was min 1 day, i dont know if they changed that. Personally i dont use the auto-updater for database, im doing manual updates 3-4 times a day. But i use the auto-updater for its search engine updates. Avira rules. music2 * +
