@freak... I hope samsung is unlucky for u as far as ur experience is concerned... Coz samsung HDD's are superior in modern days with their unique Fluid Dynamic bearing having noiseless operation... But its a real fact that older Seagates were rock solid when it comes to lifespan... I'm still having an ancient 40gb Seagate without any bad sectors or errors so far... Nevertheless, Samsung products are very reliable... * +

The 500gb hybrid momentus xt is worth a look,not quite as quick as a ssd but u get the best of both worlds and alot more space for a fraction of the price of a equal sized ssd * +

Not even close to a SSD, i have 2 Momentus Xt 1 in my Desktop for installing games only on, and 1 in my laptop, both 500gb but when i got them they was 80quid a pop.. Laptop will boot in 22sec n desktop about 34sec, now my desktop will boot in 10sec with the SAMSUNG SSD * +

mu dvd reccorder put me off samsung had 3 replacements within 6 months rage I have both seagate and wd hdds amongst others and id rate the wd a little better than th saegates I found they run cooler * +

banana i am closing in on one i am super tempted now once i cleared away an MOT and car tax and insurance and a stupid massive phone bill end of this month we'll see where i am at and i might finally grab a 240GB or something *
