facepalm nobody said they replace PCs, but for the majority of consumers who want a device thats slim, portable, lite and with over 10hours batt life that can help them edit documents, web browse, watch videos, read ebooks etc...on a large display, tablets are perfect for them, just because you dont have one doesnt mean you should bash them with out any real experience with them. * +

One of the things i use my Galaxy Tab10.1 for is keeping up with my stock portfolio and trading in the JSE Challenge im doing. Having to boot up a dam pc or laptop just to do that is an absolute drag and a phone screen is too small to view the graphs, tablet is perfect here. Saying a tablet is for those who like to show off is very stupid, nobody would buy these in such numbers to do that. Airlines use them for entertainment and planning flight routes, many engineering institutes use them to. * +

They're just to show off tease why would any sane person spend 500usd on brick that can't beat a netbook. And netbooks are perfect for mobility, battery and stuff plus a lot cheaper * +

I can keep up with stocks on my phone just fine, so what's the need for a tablet again? Plus, there's no tablet better than the iPad and that's fact. * +

Proton, no they arent, you'll know that if you've had both. Vamez, indeed, but for actual trading and reading graphs with close variables you'll find that a tablet makes life a lot easier, ofcourse thats just my example. As for iPad being best, not at all true especialy for thosd who dnt want to deal with a pc all the time, the simplicity of its UI is the best though. *
