sounds like the hard disk read write arm is jumping, do a disc check for errors * +

if there is then no errors, do a full defragment, sounds like you have not done one for a long time and the read arm is jumping wildly accross the disks to find the data * +

are the noises coming from a speaker or from inside the case. if its inside the case take the side off and listen to each component. cpu/gfx/psu/hdd/dvd/fans. listen for buzzes whistles and clicks. if its coming out your speakers then check the audio (in side the case make sure the front and back jacks are working connected propperly and dust free). inside windows check the drivers are working properly and windows has no issue with the hardware. * +

if the noise is inside the case then its likely the part needs replacing if the pc is less than 5 years old its likely 1 part is failing but its because another part is causing it to, ei the psu is over volting in some way the mother board starts to buzz because its stressed but its the psu that actually needs replacing... what im saying is make sure you test each hardware element b4 you decide its 1 thing or another. * +
