most good viruses are crypted and fud- fully undetectable. So a powerful, high end anti virus programs are nothing if you don't practise safe browsing habits

i am not afraid of virus. i am only afraid of their actions. if i have a virus on my hard drive,thats perfectly ok. it is only a program after all. but if it takes some potencially harmfull actions,no matter how well it is coded,i will notice the strange behaviour. the only damage it can really do is on my personal files or exchange information over the network or in some cases,interact with me with annoying messages/ads. all behaviours are easily detectable. the main disadvantage of virus is * +

that it can't think. it doesn't really know what i'm planning to do next and how i track him. it can't read my mind or go anywhere past os/hardware limitations. i have my finger on the power button,on the modem,on the read only o/s install disk and on the linux disc immune to windows programs. so in the moment it is detected,it is cured. i am running around 5 years without virus and i only had about a few so far,easily detectable and destroyed,with no damage done to my system.. * +
