i don't know what its called but the volume pane that pops up when i press the volume button (plus or minus) doesnt show anymore, likewise the screen brightness buttons on the laptop doesnt show up again also, but they both still work when u press them.. I dont know what i may have done somewhere... There is even the xbox360 guide button pop up that normally shows up when connected with the wireless reciever which displays battery level, but now it doesnt comeup again even when i press the gui * +

I have had the same thing on my Vaio before, it was something to do with a driver or software that came pre-installed, that I uninstalled. If you look on your motherboard or laptops manufacturer support page, see if you can find a driver or software that mentions it in the description and reinstall it. That might fix the problem. Or it could be a setting in the software somewhere that has been changed. * +
