how to disable desktop icon shadow effects? if i disable them through system performance options,they get replaced by background blocks. if i disable font smoothing it will degrade the quality of all fonts globally. i made a very lite font for the system. it looks nice in explorer,start menu.. but desktop shadows ruin it unless i remove them,in which case the text is drawn on background blocks. i searched the web for this but all results are simple things that don't work * +

i already have 7 but i preffer xp for its simplicity,room for improvement,flexibility.. and even if seven does fix this tiny annoyance,which i doubt,it is not worth upgrading to a whole new o/s only because of this. * +

it looks poor with shadows because it is very thin and displayed at 8pt,which is very small. but yes,it is in development,i just wanna know is there a way to disable shadows so i can determine the minimum acceptable thinkness for the lines now,rather then when all characters are done. it is true that this is all just by the way experimenting as i am going to work on the lines some more,but it is always good to know your options. * +

thanks mok,but i already have that disabled. the truth is shadows are far stronger with very thin fonts. its better now though as i slightly increased the line width. it seams there is no easy way to disable shadows,scence its not vital,i'll leave it here *
