Can someone tell me what it does and is it hazardous for your Pc? Im using a Dell laptop, so I go to the Dell site, input my serial code and click upgrade? Thanks. * +

The bios firmware in the EEPROM chip on the motherboard is reprogrammed with a new version. Upgrading bios is usualy ok providing you follow instructions exactly have the correct firmware and do not remove power from your pc until upgrade is complete. * +

if youre not sure, leave it. chances are good that any changes present wont be noticable. * +

I always check to see if the EEPROM is removable before flashing. If it is the worst that can happen is you will have to buy a replacement that is already programmed for about 15 quid. If it's not then you might have to throw the motherboard or laptop in the bin. * +

asking a question like that, already answers you question, leave the bios alone if ur lappy is working fine don't tamper with anything.if you having issues rather get someone who knows how to do it and watch and ask if you don't understand. * +
